Art exhibition
The Rasmussen Collections is a private art collection featuring paintings, sculptures, and graphic works by well-established Norwegian and international artists.
Here you can experience Ørnulf Opdahl’s timeless landscapes, Frans Widerberg’s elongated figures painted in intense primary colors, Per Ung’s classical sculptures, ceramics by H.M. Queen Sonja, Audun Hetland’s caricatures of Norwegian politicians, and Per Kleiva’s political art set against the backdrop of Norwegian nature.
Pablo Picasso’s works are displayed alongside Salvador Dalí’s sculptures and David Hockney’s sun-drenched California scenes. The exhibition also includes Zhuang Hong-yi’s stunning flower beds with color-shifting effects, Fred Allard’s sculptures of luxury brands, and Bob Dylan’s depictions of American culture. In addition, one of Northern Europe’s largest collections of Persian carpets is on display.
When you visit the Rasmussen Collections, you’ll encounter art in every room. Through a variety of events and exhibitions, we strive to make the collection accessible to everyone and to create a vibrant space for art, culture, and history.

From traditional artworks and expressive paintings to modern sculptures and Pop Art, you’ll find a rich collection of diverse pieces by both Norwegian and international artists.
“Being surrounded by art in everyday life does something to you. It becomes a mental break where you get the chance to reset and shift your focus.” Per Gunnar Strømberg Rasmussen, CEO of the Strømberg Group
Pop Art
Pop Art is a movement that emerged in the 1950s and 1960s. It is characterized by the use of elements from popular culture, such as advertising, comics, and everyday objects, in artworks. Pop Art combines these elements with traditional painting techniques to create unique and often ironic works of art.
The Pop Art movement was also marked by its challenge to traditional art and cultural values, aiming to show that art is not reserved for the elite but can be accessible to everyday people.
