Summer weddings have long held the spotlight, but autumn and winter offer a quieter beauty of their own.

\n\nAs the evenings in Bergen grow longer, the light comes in lower and softer, and the colours we reach for start to deepen.\n
Autumn and winter weddings feel more intimate as a result, and give couples the freedom to be a little bolder. In the pages of Vogue, warm browns and butter yellow are having a moment, and maximalism is back on the table. \n

Brides have embraced the same energy in saturated florals and more immersive celebrations.\n
These are the styles we think will define the season.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Terracotta and Softened Shades<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Terracotta and burnt orange sit beautifully alongside dusty pink, and tomato red or olive green add depth. Layering is the easiest way in with a rust-coloured napkin, warm-toned flowers, green glassware or a softly coloured menu. There’s no need for everything to match, as the slightly unexpected pairings are often what make a table feel relaxed and personal.<\/p>

Vogue<\/a><\/span> has explored the popularity of earthy wedding colours, and their appeal shows no sign of waning. Florist Katie Wachowiak told Who What Wear that rich browns and deep reds will carry on into 2027, with lilac and pastel blue now entering the palette.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This season, the single centrepiece is taking a back seat. Instead, couples are letting florals weave through the room, spilling along the length of a table or curling around an entrance. Deep reds and burgundies complement the colder months beautifully, especially when the arrangements are left a little loose, and a few bold, trailing stems bring some drama to the mix.<\/p>

Brides<\/span><\/a> notes a growing appetite for more immersive weddings, while Who What Wear suggests bringing the garden to the table, with flowers placed between tables and moss used as a way to bring a touch of the outdoors in. With the park right outside the Reksten building, it\u2019s an idea we’re rather fond of.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Maximalism doesn’t have to mean filling every surface. A few confident choices can set the tone: patterned plates, velvet linen, vintage silver and flowers in contrasting colours. Seasonal fruit such as figs, grapes, apples or citrus makes a table feel generous and lived in. The silver has our vote, not\u00a0least because a silver collection is currently on display at Rasmussen Samlingene. Who What Wear<\/a><\/span> notes that antique silver, such as serving trays, is back in demand, and planners like the way it catches the light.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Write a short letter to each guest and leave it at their seat. It could be a shared memory, or a few words about why you wanted them there. It doubles as a place card, and it’s something they can take home.<\/p>

Vogue has featured several weddings where couples did exactly this, and Who What Wear suggests a thank-you note at every seat in place of traditional favours.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

A Wedding Day Podcast<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Set up a recording corner where guests can leave voice messages during the evening. A prompt or two helps, such as a favourite memory of the two of you or a piece of advice for married life. Afterwards, the messages can be edited into a private podcast for your anniversary.<\/p>

The Knot describes audio guest books as a popular alternative to the usual guest book, and a lovely way to keep the voices and laughter of the people you love.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Planners speaking to Who What Wear say more couples want a venue’s own character to shape the design. At Rasmussen Samlingene, much of that character is already on the walls. In the Pentagon, the recently restored chandelier in the dome gives a flower-filled table a little competition overhead, and the Persian rugs throughout the building bring their own pattern and colour.
