From Landscape to Painting

Observation – Personal Focus – Artistic Expression

About the event

Jan Erik Willgohs (1952) was born, raised, and still lives in Fjøsanger, in the immediate area of the Rasmussen Collections. He actively uses this landscape as inspiration and the foundation for his vibrant and expressive paintings. In this evening’s lecture, he will shed light on his creative process, from observing the surroundings to achieving the final painted result, along with a reflective look back at his artistic development.

He was educated at the academies in Oslo and Stockholm and holds a Master’s degree from the Royal College of Art in London. Throughout his long career, he has exhibited extensively across Norway, Europe, and the rest of the world. His works are included in both national and international museums and collections. In 2013, one of his pieces was featured in the Nobel Peace Prize diploma.
