A space for everyone
It’s a space for reflection, discussion and discovery, where every visitor can find something that captures their imagination.
With more than 1,800 pieces, from paintings and sculpture to furniture and textiles, we are proud to be one of Western Norway’s largest art collections. Here you’ll encounter a rich mix of works, from bold contemporary voices to timeless icons such as Picasso, Warhol, Widerberg and Queen Sonja.
We also rent spaces, host concerts, cultural gatherings and community events that bring people together through music and art. Whether you come to explore, to listen, or simply to enjoy the atmosphere, you’ll find inspiration at every turn.
“This is more than just art – it’s a living cultural meeting point.”
“I’ve always believed that great art deserves to be seen and shared. What began as my personal passion has become part of everything we do at Strømberg Group. Through art we bring people together, share inspiration and create unforgettable experiences.”
Where art and history meet
Our collection is housed in a historic villa at Fjøsanger in Bergen, once the art-filled home of businessman Hilmar Reksten, whose shipping legacy helped shape the city in the 1970s. Today, his former home has entered a new chapter, opening its doors to the world through art and culture.
Acquired by the Strømberg Group in 2022, the landmark building has been carefully restored to its original grandeur and reimagined as the home of the Rasmussen art collection. Inside, you’ll explore its elegant architecture – from the grand concert hall to Reksten’s original office, and enjoy sweeping views of the Gamlehaugen and surrounding parkland.
Rasmussen Samlingene offers a rare opportunity to experience art, culture, history, and landscape all in one place. We are one of Bergen’s must-see destinations, and we can’t wait to welcome you.
