About the event
We are delighted to welcome the Prof. Jiri Hlinka Piano Academy to Rasmussen Samlingene for a week of open piano masterclasses.
A masterclass is a form of advanced tuition where a distinguished performer works directly with talented students, offering guidance on technique, interpretation and expression in front of a live audience. For visitors, it is a rare opportunity to observe the artistic process up close and witness how world-class musicians shape the next generation of performers.
This week, internationally recognised pianists Polina Leschenko, Christian Ihle Hadland and Håvard Gimse work with seven talented new pianists from across Europe. The masterclasses are open to the public and free to attend.
*The week concludes with an evening concert on Friday 16 October.

About the Academy
Klaverakademiet
Klaverakademiet brings together talented pianists and young performers at the beginning of their professional journeys. Three masterclasses are held here each year, including one during the Bergen International Festival. Students travel from across Norway and abroad to study, rehearse and perform.
Concerts produced in partnership with organisations in the region form part of the academy’s teaching, and the programme is recognised both within Norway and internationally. The academy was founded by Professor Jiri Hlinka and is now led artistically and educationally by his former students Leif Ove Andsnes, Geir Botnen, Havard Gimse and Christian Ihle Hadland.
